![]() ![]() I think this is gonna be really popular in tourneys since many players already use a webway gate. That says the secondary is changed so you need more models near the gate or something with Objective secured to score points. ![]() I think IM gonna try with the gate, I just dont get enough games in with everything going on. Doesnt mean it might not work, but you could maybe do better with a phoenix lord, I saw someone talking about Asurmen with his 3++ and objective secured.Īlso consider the wording of the secondary, it sounds like you can hold it as long as you have an objective secured unit on the gate, but I could be wrong on that. Your basically losing more then 2 squads of the same size of aspect warriors for the same points, they just are not gonna make their points back, plus buffs put on them takes more points and cannot be used on another unit. The issue is how many points they are tying up. The lack of invul save is big, but looks like your planning around that. I have a couple problems with wraithguard, mainly they suck in melee. What's your take?ĮDIT: for the Hidden Path, I'm going for a version without the Webway Gate to make it consistent on any terrain. They also save you 50 points for a unit of 10. In this case, would Wraithguard with cannons be a good alternative to Wraithblades? With 1+ save if Protect and Conceal go off, they are almost as tough as Wraithblades, yet they can also shoot quite hard (especially with Guide), overwatch fairly well (again especially with Guide), and between their shooting into combat and melee, aren't bad in close quarters. However, I'm also running a pair of Wraithseers with Protect/Jinx and Conceal/Reveal (Jinx and Reveal make Scatter Lasers quite scary even against heavily armoured targets). ![]() The question is: what to use as a unit to hold the Hidden Path objective? The obvious answer is 10 Wraithblades with Axes and Shields buffed with Fortune and Will of Asuryan. This message was edited 4 times. In light of TTL and Stranglehold going away, I'm considering pivoting to Banners and the Hidden Path for my vehicle-focused Ulthwe list (running Fire Prisms and D-Cannons to hit hard targets, Scatter Laser War Walkers and Vypers to screen and remove chaff). Not saying it IS lazy, it's just the impression it gives - especially when compared to other parts of the model that are clearly done with much more TLC. They are intricate pieces and just airbrushing a circle in the middle of a rune (that isn't even a circular shape) just looks lazy. I'm sure it's "what the customer ordered" but airbrushing has historically been you guys' Achilles Heel - looks like this model is a step in the right direction! Kudos!įurther examination - the runes on the hilt of the sword and the large rune on the back could also be better. The edging and highlights are great, the gems are very neat - the only thing that really takes away from it is the terrible airbrush overkill on the starcannons - OSL overdose. I agree with the general consensus that the pose seems unnatural, it's not the way that any 'thing' would position itself unless it either is falling, or has fallen and is righting itself. Not only is it truly unique, but it looks stunning and just the right amount of eerie and macabre to suit the model. +1 for the very creative technique on the faceplate. ![]()
